Abbreviations are everywhere. In today’s text crazy universe, knowing what abbreviations mean is imperative to communication.
Obviously, as healthcare professionals, abbreviations in SOAP note writing and other written communications are equally important. They obviously allow us to communicate with brevity and clarity at the same time.
I was introduced to an online resource a few years back that has helped me when I needed to confirm an abbreviation or look up an abbreviation for a specific medical term. The resource is Medilexion.com. This resource can give you quick access to SOAP note abbreviations. Additionally, it also contains an online medical dictionary, medical news, medication reference. and much more as well.
This may be information that we don’t necessarily need to refer to every day but this reference may be a little more handy than rummaging through some old texts.
So go ahead and take a look at this resource if you are not already familiar with it. Do you utilize any additional sites or resources? Please share your thoughts.
TTYL!
